Before going for my evening walk last Sunday, I dashed to our latrine to urinate, only to find it occupied by one of the laborers doing construction work here at home. I then went to the toilet in our mansion and peed in a hole because the toilet bowl had been removed.
And yikes! When I was done, I suddenly feared that a laborer might reproach me for using the toilet while still under construction. Fortunately, no one said a word to me. But what I did made me feel a guilt I couldn't shake off as I went for my walk.
Unsettling though the guilt was, it made me come up with what I call Thuita's Rule of Behaving which states as follows:
If what you are doing makes you feel afraid, you should stop it because it's wrong.
That rule has made me resolve to never do or wear anything I don't want others to see, at least not in the open, like I would have done when I used to listen to some songs full of pride and vulgarity.
One evening in 2012 as I was walking home while listening to some music with earphones, I saw my neighbor Mrs. Nyagah who loves Christ as her personal Savior. When I crossed the road to talk greet her, I unplugged my earphones, unaware that my phone would continue playing the music aloud.
Luckily, I was listening to some beautiful hymns that evening. So when my phone continued playing them aloud, Mrs. Nyagah commended me for listening to such godly music.
Now that I have come up with Thuita's Rule of Behaving which I intend to observe to the letter, I will keep some things private. So help me God.

With permission, I have extracted this picture-quote from Desi Jobs USA. All rights reserved worldwide. Bill Gates, the grand old man of software engineering, said that the secret to success is knowing where the world is headed and then getting there first. I think that secret is what made Bill Gates a dollar billionaire in his early thirties. He foresaw that people would want to own personal computers and then founded a company that produced computer software.
Inspired by Bill Gates, I reflected on where the world could be headed these days and concluded that it's headed towards the increased use of smartphones given the way I often see people glued to their phones.
So I asked myself: How can I get these avid smartphone users to visit my monetized blog where I always aim to entertain and enlighten people with quotes, stories, music and speeches?
That question is what has led me to make every content on this blog readable on smartphones by rendering it unnecessary for blog visitors to scroll sideways when reading one item. Last year, I made the quotes' pop-up of this blog responsive on mobile devices.
I am now fulfilled to have finally created a blog that is visually appealing, fast to load and readable on smartphones. The fulfillment I have felt has encouraged me to keep on blogging.
Blog visitors have also encouraged me to continue blogging by sending me positive feedback. One of the most insightful feedback message I have received so far was from Beth Duffus, a lady in the United Kingdom.
Beth Duffus advised me not to make my blog stories too long because many internet users have a short attention span. I have heeded her advice by making my stories neither too long nor too short because again, stories that are too short will leave my readers unentertained. Aren't my blog stories now of reasonable length?
Similarly, I have endeavored to have each song and speech on this blog run in less than five minutes. As for the quotes on the pop-up that appears when you first load the blog, I share only those enlightening ones that are short and to the point.
From my experiences so far, I have discovered that blogging can be challenging, just like any other honorable career. I have faced numerous rejections while promoting this blog. Then there are those moments when I am not in the mood of sharing anything with my faithful blog visitors.
Challenging though blogging is, I find it deeply satisfying. It brings meaning and purpose to my life as I share stories that I believe will make people godly. That's why I have chosen blogging as a career. If I had a million lifetimes, I'd still make the same choice.
So deeply satisfying do I find blogging that I have described myself on my social media profiles as a "storyteller at Thuitamaina.com". I irge you, my beloved reader, to also not just say on your social media profiles that you are self-employed or an entrepreneur. Tell others about your hustle and be proud of it. You never know who might help you advance to the next level.

"Always be full of joy in the Lord; I say it again, rejoice! Let everyone see that you are unselfish and considerate in all you do... Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything; tell God your needs and don't forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand."

There was this drunkard named Azoge who loved drinking at Josiah's Bar. On being told a certain Hon. Author's Note
I am learning to treat life as a journey, not a destination; I have therefore given up the things that weighed me down and I am now living my life to the fullest because the tomorrow I had always hoped to live my dreams may never be mine.

My Supreme Desire
To borrow the words of Elbert Hubbard, my supreme desire is to radiate health, cheerfulness, calm courage and goodwill. I wish to live without fear, hate, guilt, worry and jealousy; to be honest, natural, confident, clean in mind and body - ready to say "I do not know" if it be so; to treat all men with kindness; and to meet any loss, failure, criticism and rejection unabashed and unafraid.

Making Peace With the Past
"Dwell not on your past. Use it to illustrate a point, then leave it behind. Nothing really matters except what you do now in this instant of time. From this moment onwards you can be an entirely different person, filled with love and understanding, ready with an outstretched hand, uplifted and positive in every thought and deed."

Why You Should Trust God

You Matter
"Always be yourself. Never try to hide who you are. The only shame is to have shame. Always stand up for what you believe in. Always question what other people tell you. Never regret the past; it's a waste of time. There's a reason for everything. Every mistake, every moment of weakness, every terrible thing that has happened to you, grow from it. The only way you can ever get the respect of others is when you show them that you respect yourself and most importantly, do your thing and never apologize for being you."

Keys to Success
"...in his effort to withstand temptation, to economize, to exercise thrift, to disregard the superficial for the real - the shadow for the substance; to be great yet small, in his effort to be patient in the laying of a firm foundation; to so grow in skill and knowledge that he shall place his services in demand by reason of his intrinsic and superior worth. This is the key that unlocks every door of opportunity, and all others fail."

Benefits of Optimism
"In terms of success, optimistic people out perform their pessimistic colleagues. Research shows that they are consistently promoted higher and make more money while working fewer hours than those who think pessimistically. Optimists also contribute more significantly to social progress. It is the optimists who start and run successful companies, who win elections and carry out reforms, and who make breakthroughs in the realms of science and technology."

Demonstrating His Love
"Take your communication for instance - the way you address others. It ought to be with loving, gracious and edifying words. Never talk people down. Never use words that hurt and demean people. Communicate excellently with others without destroying their self-image or making them feel sorry for themselves. Talk to people in a way that they never forget the excellence of your words, the love and grace of Christ that you communicated. It's how God wants us to love."
