Poverty is Bad

I can also attest that poverty is bad because I grew up in a home without indoor toilets and showers. We also didn't have such appliances as microwaves and gas cookers that make cooking fun. Boy, wasn't it boring to go scavenging for firewood!
My brother Paddy, bless him, worked hard to lift us out of poverty, perhaps due to his exposure to First World environments. He acquired several university degrees and after he landed well-paying jobs, he had mansions built at home and old wooden houses demolished.
I can never thank Paddy enough for the main mansion he had built at home. Since I moved into it in 2015, the quality of my life has improved significantly. The mansion has a heavenly atmosphere that makes me enjoy solitude, the stuff of writers.
Before I moved into the mansion, I didn't feel at home staying in our old wooden house which had ugly walls, a potholed floor and a ceilingless roof. That was why I often left home, even though I wasn't employed anywhere.
Among the places I went to were neighbors' homes. Not only did I lose valuable time going to those places, I also risked being tempted or mistreated. All because of staying in a poverty-stricken environment.
Having realized how poverty adversely affected me, I now understand why Paddy loved spinning yarns about his primary school classmates from affluent families. I also understand why he worked so hard to lift us out of poverty.
Poverty is bad for sure. I will therefore continue working hard and smart in my blogging career and be charging people for any service I offer. Let them say what they may, but that will be my approach to life. Adieu!
