Battling My Weight Again

A few months later, I was admitted to hospital after going astray at JKUAT where I was pursuing an engineering degree. By the time I was getting discharged from the hospital, I had gained the excess weight I dreaded.
Several people commented on how big I had grown, something that affected my self-esteem. In an effort to lose weight, I visited the offices of a company that sold weight-loss supplements but their high cost discouraged me from buying them. And when I tried fasting, I soon gave up on it since I didn't enjoy going without food for several days.
It's not until I matriculated at the University of Nairobi in late 2010 that I succeeded in losing weight. That was after doing lots of writing and walking, hobbies that energized me.
But then, the circumstances that befell me at JKUAT in 2008 recurred in 2011. I was forcefully admitted to the University of Nairobi clinic. Though my weight didn't change much while in the clinic, I gradually grew plump again.
Last year when I could not stomach my excess weight any more, I got into the habit of jogging every morning. And wow! After several weeks of jogging, I lost weight to my desired level.
Somehow in the course of this year, I lost momentum and gave up the habit of jogging every morning. For that reason, coupled with overeating, my weight has ballooned again. So I am now back to square one and I badly need to lose weight.
This time round, I want to lose weight the way I did when I at the University of Nairobi in 2010. That's by doing lots of writing and walking. I will also stop waking up in the middle of the night to gobble leftover food, a bad habit I picked up when I was at JKUAT hospital in 2008.
And why have I included writing as part of my weight loss program? Because I love it. I love the art of playing with words. And whenever I pen a riveting story, it elevates my spirits which makes me enjoy walking.
